The scale of
development has already reached 2 billion yen a
year, and bases on offshore market
positively, we are continuing to improve efficiency and rationalize the construction of the system in
the future.
Usol
Vietnam
was founded as a new development center base where offshore development is promoted
from now on.
There are three main reasons
to which the Nihon Unisys group paid its attention in
Vietnam
- The 1st is the stability
and low country risk.
- The 2nd is that Vietnamese
people are hard-working, loyal and their working sense of values is similar to Japanese people.
- The 3rd is that
Vietnam
has young population. The number of less-than-30-year-old Vietnamese reaches more
than
60 percent of the total population. Therefore, the human resources for IT engineers
are substantial.
For a long time,
China
and
India
have been considered as the offshore bases but now it’s
Vietnam
to be the main base.
Generally,
the offshore development focusing on the "cost
reduction", but for Nihon Unisys group, the strengthening of development organization
is considered to be the first purpose of the company.
For such a meaning, the offshore
environment and culture become more and more important.
USOL Vietnam mainly takes charge of developing middleware
open system, sofware in finance, public, distribution, and the structure systems
field which is ordered from domestic enterprises.
Half a year from the date
of establishment, our company have been preparing toward real business development,
by recruiting and training we have trained the technique of software development,
process, technology and construction of quality control organization which was cultivated
by Nihon Unisys.
About
personnel training, we also have relationship with FPT Software Company which is a major IT vendor in
Vietnam
, and many engineers in COBOL system that securing is difficult in
Japan
.
Moreover, establishment
of our company was widely reported by the news of the spot, and it also became a
fair wind to attract people's interest.
The number of employee has
increased to 80 persons in December 2006, and it will be increased to 100 developers
in March 2007, furthermore until the end of 2008 fiscal year the number of employee are scheduled to be expanded to 500-persons.
However in
Vietnam
, the computer industry hasn’t been much developed yet, so there are few engineers
engaged in large-scale systems development. Therefore, Usol
Vietnam
is carrying out many training program in order to enhance the skills for IT engineers.
For example,
performing practical exercises, such as role-playing centering on the process from
program development to a unit test, and also from December, 2006, the Nihon Unisys
solution and Nihon Unisys learning are carrying out technical training of logy an
original development method "LUCINA®" etc., Japanese study, etc. together.
Moreover, there were some
Vietnamese engineers come to Nihon Unisys in Japan for training
in November, 2006
and the result of training course has been appeared clearly. In addition, we are
thinking of practical training “know how” and how to enhance engineer’s ability.
The establishment of the
quality assurance system in the
Vietnam
market which not only our company but also others are concentrating on.
Specifically, the
same project management tool as the Nihon Unisys solution which is bearing the core
of development business in the Nihon Unisys group is introduced.
Moreover, the special
unit of a guarantee of quality is prepared and the organization which can check
each project across boundaries is prepared.
Furthermore, we are also
cooperating with the group inter-departmental organization "guarantee-of-quality
part" which was launched in June, 2006, and we want to establish high level quality
assurance system.
By
having so far collaborated with domestic employees, we realized that Vietnamese people is really hard-working
and enthusiasm.
Especially, we are expecting
that all of them, the engineers can fully acquire IT knowledge.
For new employees without
any skills, they can participate in development business
simultaneously, and a skill rise is aimed at.
And
I do hope that growing
up to be stable offshore
Development Center
which can be prided itself in the world.
As a member
of Nihon Unisys Group, USOL Vietnam is going to practice "Customer-first by pursuing
high quality and high technology" and maintaining support of a customer's
IT environment from
now on.

(Detroit,
Philadelphia
) from 1986 - 1991
- From
1994, he served as Vice-President of U.S. NUL System Services Corporation (NSSC), and
transferred to Nagoya Branch Office as Manager of Administrative Division in April,
1998. In April 2003, he held a post of Secretariat chief.
