Since establishment, USOL Vietnam has worked to import
the Nihon Unisys Groupfs software development methodologies, processes and technologies
which have been cultivated through many years and to strengthen our quality assurance
structure in order to meet the strict quality requirements of our customers,
as well as to reduce development costs as an offshore development center. We currently
have a QA department responsible for quality control and IT Management department
for security measures and protection of personal information, which are separate
from the software development department, taking special care for the customer's
safety and security.
Further, we focus on IT and managerial training for
our most valued assets - our engineers. At the time of our establishment, our work
was centered around programming and unit testing - the manufacturing phase of the
software development process - but now, we are able to handle upstream design and
testing work as well. We have been highly evaluated for quality, technical skills
and delivery from the project managers. The number of development resources has
now grown to over 160 engineers from the 38 engineers we had at establishment.
The Japanese economy has seen continued difficulties in
the past few years, and many Japanese companies have moved their manufacturing operations
to Southeast Asia including India and China in search of further cost reductions
under increasingly severe competition.
Even in software development, customer requirements for
cost reductions in
IT investment are becoming increasingly tougher. In order to
meet these requirements, we cannot fully leverage cost benefits by just using offshore
development for a one-way manufacturing. We need a structure that enables joint
development by the customer, project and offshore development center.
How can we understand the customer's business and provide
services from the customer's perspective that satisfies customers? Fully integrated
joint development becomes possible only by sharing this information
among the customer,
project and offshore development center.
As a group company of the Nihon Unisys Group, USOL Vietnam is working to establish and strengthen a structure that enables us to combine the
benefits of offshore development with the rich experience and solid technical skills
of the Nihon Unisys upstream engineers. As part of this effort, we established the
USOL Vietnam Toyosu Office in December 2010 for quickly supporting onsite work in
Japan.
We will continue to improve our technical skills and to
accumulate development experience to contribute to the integrated development of
the customer, Nihon Unisys and USOL Vietnam offshore development center, so that
our customers can fully enjoy the inherent benefits of offshore development.
